Acceptable Use Policy

Last updated: 20 August 2026

This acceptable use policy, together with our Terms of Website Use, sets out the terms on which we allow you to use our websites — firstaidforlife.org.uk, onlinefirstaid.com and firstaidforpets.net (each "our site") — whether you are a visitor or a registered user of our online courses.

Our sites are operated by First Aid for Life Limited Partnership (registered in England & Wales under partnership number LP015319) and Firstaidonline Ltd (registered in England & Wales under company number 08067073), both of 74 Ramsden Road, Balham, London SW12 8QZ. All enquiries should be directed to emma@firstaidforlife.org.uk.

Please read this policy carefully. By using our sites you indicate that you agree to comply with it and to be bound by it.

Prohibited uses of our site

Whether you are a visitor or a registered user, you must comply with our Terms of Website Use and use our sites for lawful purposes only. In particular, you must not use our sites for any of the following:

  • any fraudulent activity;
  • any activity that breaches any applicable law or regulation, whether national or international;
  • any activity that may cause or result in harm to a child under 18 years of age;
  • sending unsolicited advertising or other content (spam), or entering into any arrangement for such material to be sent;
  • reproducing, selling, sharing or otherwise handling our sites or their contents — including our course materials — in breach of our Terms of Website Use;
  • sharing your online course login details with any other person, or allowing any other person to access course content through your account;
  • knowingly introducing to our sites, or transmitting or attempting to transmit to any other site, computer or network, any virus, trojan, worm, logic bomb or other material, code or programme which is malicious or technologically harmful;
  • attempting to gain unauthorised access to our sites, our software, our server, or any server, computer or database connected to our sites; or
  • attacking our sites by means of a denial-of-service attack or a distributed denial-of-service attack.

Contributing and interacting

Our sites may allow you to upload or contribute content, post comments or reviews, take part in a course discussion, or interact with other users. When you use these facilities it is your responsibility to make sure that anything you contribute is, so far as you are aware, factually correct, represents your honest opinion, and does not breach any applicable law or regulation.

In addition, any contribution or interaction must not include any material which:

  • is defamatory, obscene, offensive, hateful or inflammatory;
  • is, or refers to material which is, sexually explicit;
  • promotes violence, illegal activity or any form of discrimination;
  • infringes any other person's copyright, database right or trade mark;
  • threatens, harasses, upsets, embarrasses, alarms or annoys any other person, or is likely to do so;
  • advocates, promotes or assists any illegal activity;
  • is likely to deceive any person, or is made in breach of a legal duty owed to a third party, such as a duty of confidence;
  • invades another person's privacy, or causes inconvenience or anxiety to any person;
  • impersonates any person, or misrepresents your identity or your affiliation with any person; or
  • gives the impression that the material comes from us, when it does not.

Confidentiality of other course participants

Our training covers subjects that people sometimes relate to their own experiences, including medical emergencies, bereavement and injury. If you take part in a course discussion, whether online or in person, you may hear personal information about other participants.

You must keep any such information confidential. You must not repeat it, publish it, or share it outside the course, and you must not record any part of a course — by audio, video, screenshot or any other means — without our prior written consent.

Moderation

Where we provide an interactive service on our sites:

  • we will tell users whether moderation is in place and, if so, whether it is carried out by a person or automatically;
  • where moderation is in place, we will give you a means of contacting the moderator;
  • although we will do our best to assess any risks an interactive service may pose, we are under no obligation to moderate it, and we exclude any liability for loss or damage caused to any person by their use of it; and
  • children should be supervised at all times when using any interactive service on our sites, whether or not it is moderated.

Breaches of this policy

Any breach of this acceptable use policy will be dealt with in the same way as a breach of our Terms of Website Use. We reserve the right to take any other action we reasonably consider appropriate, including issuing a warning, removing your contribution, suspending or withdrawing your access to our sites and to any online course you have purchased, disclosing your identity to law enforcement authorities where we are required to do so, and taking legal action against you.

Where we withdraw access to a paid online course because you have breached this policy, we are not obliged to refund you. We are not liable for any loss or damage caused by any breach of this acceptable use policy.

Amendments

We may revise this acceptable use policy at any time by amending this page, or by notices published elsewhere on our sites. Please check this page regularly, as the version in force at the time you use our sites is the one that applies to you.
